2020 is wrapping up with winter conditions Central New Yorkers are all too familiar with.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory advising travelers throughout counties in New York and Pennsylvania of conditions that may make commutes slippery tonight and tomorrow.

The advisory will be in effect between 1 p.m. on Wednesday and 4 a.m. on Thursday, bringing a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Most counties under the advisory will see about one inch of snow and ice accumulations, but Oneida County could see up to two or three inches.

If you're traveling during the advisory or experience winter conditions, make sure to drive safely, adjust your speed accordingly, and watch out for slow-moving vehicles like snow plows on the roadways.

A tractor-trailer crashed into the back of a snow plow early Tuesday morning in Cicero after following too close and traveling at a "speed not reasonable and prudent." Both drivers were transported to Upstate University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, but the accident is a reminder to drive with caution and watch out for our hard-working men and women plowing snow throughout the winter months.
