The new year didn't kick off in the best possible way for newcomer William Michael Morgan. The country singer was involved in a car accident on Jan. 1.

Morgan posted a picture of his wrecked car late Friday night with the caption, "Angels were watching me tonight. Thank you good lord. Thank you...." The image shows the singer's car with a crushed front end and another vehicle in the background which also took a beating.

The next day, he let fans know that is doing okay, besides it being difficult to walk on his left knee. "Thanks everyone for you sweet messages last night," Morgan writes on Facebook. "I'm going now to get all of my stuff out of the jeep ... Only thing wrong is its hard to walk on my left knee but I think time will heal that. all is well. Thank you Jesus."

The "I Met a Girl" singer was in good spirits on Jan. 2 as he performed at the Grand Ole Opry, even sharing a behind-the-scenes video of himself doing a brief run-through of his set minutes before he took the stage. Watch his three-minute warmup below.

Morgan will head back out on Jan. 14 for a show in Oklahoma City, Okla., with dates running through Jan. 30 in Everglades City, Fla.
