Will Mohawk Valley’s Only RadioShack Stay Open

The list of RadioShack store locations has been drastically shrinking for years.  Only one store remains open here in the Mohawk Valley, and that's the Herkimer store located in the EFK Plaza on State Street.

Now, after filing for Bankruptcy for the second time, RadioShack has announced that over 550 more stores will be closing, including 45 here in New York State.  The closest location to Central New York that is on the list is the Johnstown store.  That means, the Herkimer Radio Shack will remain open.  The complete list of closings can be found at Businessinsider.com.

At one time, RadioShack had several locations in the area, including Sangertown Square, the New Hartford Shopping Center, Rome and Oneida.
