As the Genesee Brewing Company completes their annual Keg Tree one question remains, where is Saranac's?

Every year for the last 4 years the Genesee Brewhouse in Rochester has assembled a massive Christmas tree made from stacked empty kegs, and they're getting ready for their 2017 tree.

The 'tree' is made from approximately 400 empty kegs and stands about 26 feet high.

Here's what it looks like when it is completed:

And here's a time lapse of last year's tree being assembled:

How cool is that? Now of course we want something similar in Utica. After all the Utica Comets and Rochester Americans are AHL division rivals, so why not have a little friendly competition between Genesee and Saranac?

We think the F.X. Matt Brewery could build a much bigger keg tree, or maybe something different?

How about a real tree strung with real Saranac beer bottles turned into Christmas lights? Or hundreds of Utica Club cans stacked up?

Either way Utica needs to step up!

Genesee will light the tree at a ceremony and block party at their Brewhouse at 25 Cataract Street in Rochester on December 1.

The party starts at 5 p.m. and the tree is scheduled to be lit up at 6 p.m.
