If you're loud or know someone who is, this will explain everything. I came across an article written by Andrea Wesley about the struggles of loud people. She has to be loud too because only a loud person could write something so true.

1. Keep it Down
We're told to be quiet or keep our voices down on a daily basis. We try but it's not as easy as it sounds.

2. Use Your Indoor Voice
What the heck is an 'indoor voice?' This IS our indoor voice. You think we're loud inside, you should hear our outdoor voice.

3. We’re NOT Mad, Bitchy, Rude or a Bully
We're not angry, bitchy, rude or a bully. We're just enthusiastic about what we're talking about. The more excited we are the louder we get. Trust me, you'll KNOW when we're mad.

4. Stop Shouting
It may sound like shouting to you but this is our normal voice.

5. We Can't Whisper
When we try and whisper no one can hear us, including ourselves. So when we have to repeat ourselves we revert back to our normal voice, LOUD!

6. We Scare Shy People
Shy people are terrified of us. They have no idea how to handle all that loudness. Sorry, we don't mean to scare you.

7. People Are Intimidated
We don't mean to intimidate but understand why people would be. We can be a lot to handle for anyone who doesn't understand we're like this all the time.

8. How Loud Are We
"We have no idea what this “normal voice” everyone keeps telling us about actually is. We’re our own version of normal," writes Wesley.  Amen Andrea. Amen!

Next time you're around a loud person keep these things in mind and try listening to WHAT we say, rather than HOW we say it. You may hear something else entirely.
