Not one, but two meteor showers are peaking this week if the clouds in Central New York cooperate. The Draconid meteor shower started peaking last night and will continue to do so tonight as well. The Southern Taurid meteor shower starts peaking tonight and goes through tomorrow night.

Meteor showers occur when the earth passes through the wake that comets have left, and these two particular showers happen every year around this time.

As for the forecast, tonight looks like thick clouds (which of course it does) but tomorrow night looks much better. According to Accuweather, New York State is in the best viewing area in the country, so get away from the city and look up for a change!
