There's no chore I hate more than grocery shopping. I've been ordering ahead and picking up at the curb for months now but have joked, if only someone would delivery them to my home and put them away. My prayers have been answered. Walmart is testing a new program that does just that.

Just place an order at Walmart.com. When it's ready, a driver will bring them to your home. If no one answers when they arrive, they will have a one-time passcode that is pre-authorized which will open your home’s smart lock. The minute the driver rings the doorbell, you'll receive a notification the delivery is occurring and, you can watch the delivery take place in real-time.

"Walmart is testing new delivery ideas with companies like August Home. As one of the leading providers of smart locks and smart home accessories, they are a great partner to test these new concepts, like delivering packages inside customer's homes and putting groceries away in their refrigerators."

The program is being tested in Silicon Valley but Walmart plans to do more in the future "by delivering groceries and other orders in whatever location works best for our customers."

This may not be for everyone – and certainly not right away – but Walmart wants to offer customers the opportunity to participate in tests.
