Utica Zoo Welcomes Two Baby Porcupines

The latest additions to the Utica Zoo are here! Meet Kutarna and Darius' new babies.

The male and female “porcupettes” were born at the Utica Zoo on March 14.

The male is roughly 12 inches long and weighs 2.76lbs, and the female is 13 inches long and weighs 3.36lbs.

The pair haven't been to their exhibit yet because of their tiny sizes, but Zoo staff hopes they'll be out and visiting guests soon.
