How do you take dozens of pounds of butter and turn it into art? With patience and skill.

The 2017 New York State Fair butter sculpture has been unveiled, and is a salute to the New York State Police Department's 100th anniversary. But just how is the sculpture made?

Now you'll have the chance to watch the sculpture being created from square one with the help of a time lapse video from the Great New York State Fair.

The sculpture was created by the same husband and wife duo that have been making the butter sculptures for the State Fair since 2003, Jim Victor and Marie Pelton of Pennsylvania.

Watch the video to see Jim and Marie create the 2017 State fair butter sculpture right in front of your eyes.
