Don't you wish there was someone you could call when you run into a problem in the kitchen, getting ready for Thanksgiving?  Who wants to ask their Mother-in-law for advice?  You can call the turkey hotline, and there are several options.

USDA hotline - 800-535-4555
available Thanksgiving Day 8am-2pm

Butterball Turkey Talk-Line - 800-BUTTERBALL
available through Christmas

When the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line began 29 years ago, 6 people took 11,000 calls in the first year along.  These days, the Talk-Line employs more than 50 people who respond to more than 100,000 questions each November and December.  They've answered call on how to cook for a whole firehouse, how to impress the in-laws, and how to serve international students their first American Thanksgiving dinner.

You can also visit the Butterball website for recipes and tips.  They even have videos to show you everything you need to know.

Gravy Tip - Use a gravy shaker to avoid any lumps, but NEVER put warm water in the shaker with your flour or corn starch.  It'll explode when you shake it and you'll have one very messy kitchen.  Trust me, I'm speaking from experience.

Now you can have a beautiful Thanksgiving bird with non lumpy gravy to serve to your in-laws.  The sense of accomplishment will be almost as good as the meal.
