His shirt says it all. Scott Mackintosh is the best dad ever! His daughter may disagree after he donned a pair of Daisy Dukes to protest her choice of clothing.  He went to a restaurant to show her how ridiculous she looks. His wife tweeted the results and the photo has gone viral.

Mackintosh who has 7 children, four of them daughters, says he's a bit protective and shares the real story behind the short shorts in his family blog.

There is a dress code in the Mackintosh family.  'No mid-drift or low-cut shirts, no short-shorts, short skirts and we even go as far as saying no sleeveless shirts unless playing sports or on the beach.  Some may call me old fashion, but I call it “A Dad who loves his daughters” (and sons too).'

When Scott and Becky's daughter refused to change her inappropriate outfit for a family outing, Scott says he wanted to 'make a 'small statement on how her short-shorts maybe aren’t as “cute” as she thinks!' He cut a pair of jeans into shorts and threw on the 'Best Dad Ever' shirt his kids gave him for Father's Day.  Scott only planned to show his kids the ridiculous outfit before leaving the house but since they had their faces glued to their phones, they didn't even notice. So the family hit the road and it wasn't until they were near the restaurant, that his kids noticed.

Scott not only wore those shorts into the restaurant; the family also went miniature golfing AND to get a milkshake.  All while people pointed, snickered and took pictures.

At the end of the night Scott says 'There was no “Dad I get it” or “Dad you’re the best…. thanks for that awesome lesson.”  I don’t think my object lesson of “modest is hottest” made the statement I had intended. But no matter if social media gets the story mixed up and twisted, my daughter will always know that her dad loves her and cares about her enough to make a fool out of himself.

Best Day Ever? You bet!  His daughter may not have reacted how he thought, but I guarantee she'll never forget his lesson.  Neither will the rest of the world.
