The ‘Coolest’ Bars This Winter Are In Lake George
It may seem like the wrong season to be getting excited about ice, but in Lake George, Ice Bars are a winter staple.
Every winter, a few bars in Lake George take advantage of the cold temperatures and host events that center around ice bars.
First on the list is the Sagamore Resort's Glacier Ice Bar and Lounge.
Carved out of an 18,000 pound block of ice, the bar is about four feet high complete with ice stools! Don't worry though, the stools are covered with fur so your behind won't freeze to your seat.
Want an ice cold shot? They have an ice luge built in to the bar!
Stop by the Sagamore's Glacier Ice Bar the weekends of January 20-22 and Jan. 27-29.
Next is the Adirondack Pub & Brewery's 'Funky Ice Fest.'
This one is slightly different from the Glacier Ice Bar because it's an entire event built around ice creations. This year's theme is Interactive Ice, so you can expect to see incredible creations carved out of ice.
While they do have an actual Ice Bar, the biggest attraction is probably the full-sized working Ice Piano!
You can check out the 'Funky Ice Fest' on the weekends of January 20-22 and Jan. 27-29, and don't forget to bring your favorite funk music on vinyl. DJ Derek will be spinning up classic funk music the whole time and their BYOV(bring your own vinyl) party will make sure your favorite tunes are heard.
The Inn at Erlowest is a former mansion built out of stone that looks like it could be a castle - the perfect setting for an outdoor party, compete with a 'Fire Bar!'
What is a fire bar? Exactly what you might think - a bar that is covered in flames instead of ice. But don't ask us - you can see one for yourself at The Inn at Erlowest's Winterfest.
In addition to the Fire Bar, you'll be able to enjoy live music, food and a huge outdoor fireplace to warm up next to!
The Inn at Erlowest's Winterfest will run every Saturday for five weeks beginning on January 21.
Don't forget to dress warm and bring gloves to keep your hands warm with all of those amazing ice-cold drinks.
