For a short period of time, officials say they are suspending open heart surgeries in an effort to make the service even better.
There are more COVID patients admitted at Wynn Hospital in Utica than there have been over the last several months. As a result and with the likelihood that numbers are open the rise, hospital officials announced on Wednesday that masks will be required as of Thursday morning at 7 for all guests entering the complex.
The Chief Physician Executive at MVHS's Wynn Hospital says he'll be leaving the group early next year. Dr. Kent Hall, who's been practicing medicine since the early 1980s, says he'll retire at the end of January 2024. Hall has been instrumental in the opening of the new Wynn Hospital in Utica, and has guided the medical team at MVHS through the COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent move into the new downtown Utica facility.

It looks like the controversy over Utica's Kennedy Parking Garage is over.
On Thursday, Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri announced that the city's Urban Renewal Agency has approved the sale of the garage to none other than, Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) for $1.5 million.
