One of the benefits of living here in central New York is the fall foliage during the autumn season. "Leaf peeping" has become a great tourist attraction for people down south who don't get a fall foliage color change. Right now, many areas are approaching peak conditions.

Maybe you've got a little vacation time left and looking to take a fall getaway. I usually like to hold some vacation days for Christmas time, and maybe you do as well, but what about now? Here are some fall vacation ideas you might want to consider.

As we wind down the "Frog Days Of Summer" and await the arrival of autumn, we realize that we live in one of the best areas to experience the colorful fall foliage. "Leaf peeping" as it's sometimes called has become quite a tourist attraction. Many of my "snowbird" Florida friends have told me that they don't have a fall foliage season in the "Sunshine State"

New York has some advantages when it comes to "Leave Peeping."  A recent press release from "I Love NY", an arm of the state's Tourism Department, details the current status of the annual color change.  Old Forge appears to be at the peak change while the Catskills Region is about 80%...

As much as we all love summer fall in upstate New York can be breathtakingly beautiful. The changing colors of the leaves brings visitors from all over New York and New England to the northern reaches of the state to enjoy what has become known as "leaf-peeping".

As we count down the remaining Frog Days of Summer, we can look forward to autumn colors. Even many of the snowbirds who go to Florida for the winter come back up to central New York for fall foliage viewing.
