New York's Susquehanna River becoming more accessible for kayaks and canoes. In connection with Earth Day celebrations around the state and the Governor's Adventure NY initiative, the new access point will help connect more New Yorkers with nature.

The Department of Environmental Conservation officially opened the new launch and access site on Main Street in Windsor, New York near Binghamton. The Car Top Launch and Fishing Access Site was a cooperative effort between the DEC and the Village of Windsor in Broome County. It will be maintained through that same cooperative effort.

The site will provide more day trip access for kayaks, canoes and fishing excursions. The Susquehanna is the longest river on the East Coast, stretching from Otsego Lake in Cooperstown to the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
