The National Weather Service says another winter storm is headed for Central New York this week, bringing up to 12" of snow and bitter cold.

The National Weather Service says Central New York can expect to see snowfall from anywhere from several inches to a foot. NWS expects snow to start late Monday night then continue into Tuesday night. The heaviest snow will fall Tuesday afternoon and evening with the highest amounts in the area east of Interstate 81.

Snowfall is expected to end Tuesday evening, but bitter cold will set in and stay with us until Thursday evening.

There is currently a Winter Storm Watch in effect for most of Central New York, beginning at different times, depending on your area.

WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of around
a foot with locally higher totals.

* WHERE...Oneida County.

* WHEN...A narrow band of moderate to locally heavy snow will
move into Oneida county late Monday night with additional
periods of snow through Tuesday night.

THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to
10 inches possible.

* WHERE...In Madison, Chenango, Otsego,
Delaware and Sullivan counties.

* WHEN... Snow is expected to develop Tuesday morning and
continue through Tuesday night. Snow may be moderate to heavy
at times.

WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 9
inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...In Onondaga, Tompkins, Cortland, Tioga and Broome counties.

* WHEN... Snow is expected to develop Tuesday morning and
continue through Tuesday night. Snow may be moderate to heavy
at times.
