Singing Country, Serving His Country

During much of his singing career, Elvis Presley aced the Country charts as well as Rock & Roll.  And, on December 20, 1957, he got a special letter in the mail!

"In 1957 Elvis Presley receives his draft notice from the U.S. Army. He was ordered to report on January 20, but the date would later be deferred until March 24 in order that he could finish his latest movie, "Kid Creole."
