Jake Dodds told the Wildhorse Saloon that he grew up listening to country music, like the Grand Ole Opry, and watching the Statler Brothers Show on TNN with his grandparents every Saturday night.
In the 90's, he got hooked on Garth Brooks TV specials and listening to Tracy Lawrence, Tim McGraw, and Tracy Byrd on country radio. Later discovering Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney, "who helped a shy kid through those awkward teenage years of girls, football practice, and mowing lawns."
Karaoke led Jake to start a band in 2013. He's been on the road ever since releasing new original music and building a career of his own.
Opening for Jake Dodds is Whiskey Creek. You may remember seeing them on the FrogFest 30 Stage With Stephanie Quale and LoCash.
Whiskey Creek is a modern country music band from Central New York founded in 2016 by Chad (bass) and Bryan (lead guitar/vocals). With the addition of Steve (drums 2017) and Eric (lead vocals/guitar 2019), Whiskey Creek provides a high-energy country rock show.
We play several venues ranging from Albany to Syracuse and are proudly Frog Fest Alumni! We opened for Sam Grow at Rustic Ties in May. As a band, we pride ourselves on playing country songs from the 2000-the 2010s that have a great drive to them. We mix in a few older classic country songs and some classic rock medleys too!
Don't miss out on live entertainment. We've gone without it for so long. We've got to grab it when we can. See you there.
