Roughing It Won’t Be So Rough With New Cabins In Finger Lakes
Roughing it won't be so rough with new cabins in the Finger Lakes. New York's Department of Environmental Conservation has added 14 new ones and renovated 7 more at two state parks near Ithaca. Check out photos of the amenities at Buttermilk Falls State Park and Robert H Treman State Park.
Buttermilk Falls State Park
14 Cabins provide one double bed and a triple bunk bed. There's an upper and lower park with both offering picnic areas, playing fields and hiking trails. The upper features a walk along the Buttermilk gorge and rim, while the lower has trails through the Larch Meadows. Guided tours are offered weekly from July 4th through Labor Day.
Robert H Treman State Park
Seven 1930s-era cabins were restored with modern updates including electric service, heat, and custom hardwood beds. DEC officials used wood from storm-damaged park trees. for renovations. The park is highlighted by the Enfield Glen gorge that features 12 waterfalls, including the 115 foot Lucifer Falls.
