One woman is dead and another was taken to the hospital after a head-on crash in Verona, New York.

New York State Police are continuing to investigate the two-car crash that occurred around 12:40 PM on Thursday, December 2 on State Route 46 in the town of Verona. 36-year-old Croy Delahunt of Rome was driving northbound when he crossed over into the opposite lane, hitting a car driving by 79-year-old Judith Webb of Rome.

Webb was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 74-year-old female passenger was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse by Mercy Flight where she was listed in stable condition.

Delahunt was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Utica with non-life-threatening injuries.

State Route 46 was shut down in both directions for several hours after the crash for police to investigate.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, New London Fire Department, and AM Care Ambulance.
