Rome Teen In End Stage Renal Failure Praying for a Christmas Miracle
A Rome teen in end stage renal failure is praying for a Christmas miracle.
Alissa Grenier will be 19 in January but she has faced so many struggles already. She is in end stage renal failure and has had multiple surgeries already.
Alissa has been on a kidney transplant list for over a year. On Thanksgiving, she thought her prayers where answered when she got a call for a possible match. Alissa and her family rushed to Syracuse at 6am only to find it wasn't viable.
Despite the waiting and praying, Alissa still tries to brighten everyone's day around her. She is smart, funny, and compassionate and loves all things Frozen.
Follow the amazing journey of Alissa on Facebook and see if you're a match at Upstate.edu.
Alissa's positive attitude despite all her health problems, makes her our Holiday Hero. We're sending her to see Blake Shelton's 'Friends & Heroes' tour in Albany March 23rd. Maybe she can forget about everything, even if for just one night.
