Two Families In Rome Need Help Rebuilding After Fire
You can't even begin to imagine what it's like losing everything in a house fire. For two families in Rome, that's the reality they are dealing with.
On March 8th 2018, a fire broke out with no notice and quickly swept through 609 1/2 North Madison Street in Rome. This fire ended up destroying two apartments, and leaving two families with next to nothing. A GoFundMe has been launched to help them rebuild:
These two families are trying to rebuild. They need a great many things, everything was lost in the fire. We hope to help them both get back on their feet as quickly as possible and we appreciate any help you can give them."
A goal of $5,000 has been set, and so far over $1,100 has been raised.
Some good news from the fire has been about one of the families pet cats named Sebastian. According to the family, he escaped the fire, but not unscathed:
We found him hiding under a baker's rack on our back porch after escaping the fire next door. He spent a couple nights at the Marcy Vet Clinic and is doing well, should be home tonight!"
At least there is some good news to report on.
