Ramar Liquor Building In Herkimer Finally Taken Down

After nearly 6 months, demolition on the Ramar Liquors building in Herkimer has begun.

On November 24, 2016 a fire gutted the liquor store and upstairs apartment, and the building has sat vacant and burned out ever since.

On Tuesday, crews arrived to begin the demolition, and were able to reduce the building to a pile of rubble in a matter of hours.

Here's what the site look like as of Tuesday afternoon.

Crews say they expect to have the site cleaned completely up by the end of the week.
