Price Chopper announced that they will be re-branding and remodeling some stores in their chain and using the name Market 32 by Price Chopper.

The first new Market 32s will be in the Albany suburbs of Wilton and Clifton Park. The change to a more upscale brand and look was done to compete with chains like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

The Albany Business Review says Price Chopper

will invest $300 million over the next five years to renovate and rebrand stores under the name Market 32 by Price Chopper.

One third of that investment will be invested in stores in the Albany region. The first local stores to operated under the new name will be in Clifton Park and Wilton. The new store design will be influenced by Price Chopper's Market Bistro store in Latham.

No word about a Market 32 coming to any of the Utica area Price Choppers.
