Why is it a weeks vacation seems to fly by but a week of work seems to drag on forever?  Tadpole and I enjoyed a week of sunshine and 90 degrees on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The sunrises over the ocean were spectacular.  I wish I would have remembered my camera to take more pictures.  I borrowed my friends to take a few the last day, but of course, her batteries died after about 4 shots.  The moon was just as spectacular as the sunrise.  And if you made it out to the beach early enough you could see both the sun and the moon at the same time.

The shell picking was pretty good this year too.  The storm brought in so many conk shells, my husband even asked 'how many conk shells does one girl need.'

We were treated to a dolphin show one day too.  There were about 6 or 7 within hands reach of the beach splashing, jumping and playing around for about 30 minutes.  Of course I didn't have a camera for that either.  And each night you'd find a family of deer in the front yard eating the grass.  It was like going to Sea World for free.

I thing I did remember this year.  The suntan lotion.  Since I burnt my feet badly last year and had to wear socks at the beach every day, it was the first thing I covered this year.  My nose was the only thing with a burn that started to peel before we got back.

When we did get back, we noticed the vast difference in weather.  It was a 50 degree swing from the 90 degrees we left to 40 here.  I even had to start my car this morning.  Is it fall already?  I'm going into hibernation.  Wake me up when its summer again.
