Fans of the popular Polar Express holiday train trip are bound to be disappointed this season as the company behind the iconic ride has announced there will be no Saratoga Springs stop this year.

According to the Albany Times-Union, Iowa Pacific Holding and Rail Events weren't able to reach a financial agreement for the event this year.

Instead, Iowa Pacific's President Ed Ellis says they will replace the trip with a similar one with a different name and theme.

In Saratoga Springs and a few other places across the U.S., the Polar Express trip will be replaced by the 'Train to Christmas Town.'

Ellis told the Times-Union that the change will save the company money in the long run because they will no longer have to pay license fees for the use of 'Polar Express.'

The original fan-favorite 'Polar Express' train will still be available in Utica, Medina and Kingston NY this holiday season.
