Pope Francis started things off on in first full day in the United States by taking a trip around the National Mall in Washington in his Popemobile. He was greeted by thousands of onlookers and well-wishers, and he got to kiss many babies.
Later in the day, he attended Midday Prayer at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, and in the afternoon, the Pope presided over the Holy Mass of the canonization of Junipero Serra.
