Hours after Confederate Railroad was pulled from the concert lineup at the Ulster County Fair, a petition was started to stand with the band and allow them to play.

Confederate Railroad were scheduled to perform at the Fair Aug. 1. However, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan cancelled their appearance after a petition over opposition of the band's use of the Confederate flag, "a symbol of division and racism." A petition that only had 389 names by the way.

Now Samuel Considine, a lifelong Ulster County resident and Ulster County Fair attendee has started another petition to stand in solidarity with Confederate Railroad and their right to perform at the Ulster County Fair.

"It is appalling County Executive Pat Ryan removed Confederate Railroad from the lineup of the Ulster County Fair. We are entering dangerous territory when artists deemed offensive by the government can be banned from performing at public events."

The petition also calls for Craig Morgan, Little Texas, and Fran Cosmos to cancel their performances at the Fair to stand in solidarity with Confederate Railroad. "After all, if one band can be banned from performing today they maybe the next act that is not welcome to perform."
