Did you know that Americans will buy over $2 billion worth of Halloween candy this year? With that much candy being bought, what are New Yorkers spending the most money on?

Candy Store.com has put together a map of the top three most popular Halloween candy items by state and New York's favorite might surprise you.

CandyStore.com ships candy all over the country and Canada, so they took 10 years of data and created the list using candy bought between 2007 and 2016.

So what are New York's favorites?

1. Sour Patch Kids - New Yorkers have bought over 200 thousand pounds of Sour Patch Kids in the last 10 years.

2. Candy Corn - That's right, people actually like this stuff in New York (we must be the only ones). In fact, New Yorkers bought 101,292 pounds of Candy Corn since 2007.

3. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - Surprising because we thought this would be solidly at #1 but alas, New Yorkers only bought 56,776 pounds of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups since 2007.

Now you know what kind of candy to buy, go ahead and stock up for Halloween. You can probably skip the candy corn though, we're sure sanitation workers are tired of seeing it all in the trash.
