A New York man can boast he's one of the smartest teachers in the nation.

Francois Barcomb of New Paltz finished first in this year's Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament. The Hendrick Hudson physics teacher defeated an Albany history teacher and Maryland music teacher on the finale, winning the $100,000 grand prize.

"He did it! Hen Hud’s own Francois Barcomb came in FIRST PLACE during the Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament," Hendrick Hudson School District wrote on Facebook. "Congratulations to the Hendrick Hudson High School physics teacher, who toppled the competition during the televised final round on Friday evening!"
