The New York State Fair will be here sooner than you think. Six months sooner with a new Winter Fair.

For the first time, a Winter Fair will be held at the fairgrounds. It'll run February 8-10 inside the Expo Center in Syracuse. There will be the fair favorites like rides, food, exhibits, a kid's zone and music from local bands. Winter activities will also be held outside. Plus, you'll get a sneak peek at the upcoming state fair in the Summer of 2019.

“The State Fair is the best and biggest party of the summer in Upstate New York. Our goal is to create the best party of the winter by borrowing some of the elements that make the Fair so great,” said Steve Becker of Premier Promotions, the promoter of Winter Fair.

“We’re sure families will be looking for something fun to do together in February and are very excited to see this new event grow and prosper," said Troy Waffner, Fair Director.

A Mini-Midway will feature rides, such as a merry-go-round, giant slide, tilt-a-whirl, a fun house and amusement games. A stage will feature music from a number of bands, including the Todd Hobin Band, the Blacklites, the Chris Taylor Custom Band, and more.

Tickets go on sale Monday, November 19th and cost $4 for adults and $2 for teens and seniors. Children 12 and under are free.
