New York State Fair advance ticket sales start Monday, July 9. Proof that summer is rolling right along, the fair is just a few weeks away. You can save some significant money with advance tickets for admission plus get discounts on midway rides. Here's where to get tickets online and at retail outlets.

Advance admission tickets will be $6, 40% off the daily admission price of $10. Again this year, the fair will offer special days with big discounts too.

• Admission is $1 on opening day, August 22 and Labor Day, September 3.
• $3 Dollar Thursdays will get you the discount August 23 and 30.

If you're looking for some deals on rides for the Wade Shows Midway, they're also available July 9. One day of unlimited rides on a weekday will be $20 and $25 for a weekend day. Wade Shows also offers a Mega Pass giving you unlimited rides every day of the Fair for $70. They can only be purchased at WadeShows.com. There are two discount days for rides too. Monday, August 27 get 10 rides for $10, and on Labor Day all rides are $1. The Broadway Skyliner passes are sold separately from ride packages.

All tickets and passes, (except for the Mega Pass) are available at etix.com.  Presale admission tickets will also be available at all Price Chopper, Wegmans, and Tops across the state. Some retail locations will also have ride vouchers too. There's no admission cost for kids 12 and under. Unused admission tickets purchased for the 2017 Fair will be honored for the 2018 Fair.
