Sharon Springs farmer Jay Lavery dances like no one is watching. But millions saw his 'barn dance.'

Dancing not only keeps Lavery warm in his barn at The Permaculture Inn, he also uses dancing, mixed with yoga and meditation as alternatives to taking pain meds. The farmer suffered a back injury that resulted in several surgeries "including a discectomy and a spinal fusion and never ending back pain," says Lavery. "I hope this can inspire anyone to move in spite of pain and I hope this puts a smile on your face."

The dance is putting smiles on millions of faces. Over 6 million have watched the 'Barn Dance' on Lavery's Facebook page. As for the inspiration, it's hard to say who's inspired more, Lavery or those watching. "You have inspired me a million times more than I could ever inspired you in my lifetime. All I did was wiggle a little in the barn and told you a little about me. But all of you have shared your inspiration to all corners of the world which is absolutely amazing," says Lavery.

When Tad & I travel to area farms this Spring for 'Farm Hands,' we need to start barn dancing! It looks too much fun not to.
