It's going to be a wet end to the work week with possible flooding in central New York. The National Weather Service is warning of heavy rainfall and isolated flooding in Oneida, Onondaga and Madison counties.

We'll see on and off showers and thunderstorms through tonight. The heavy rain could bring flooding to small streams and creeks, poor drainage areas and places already dealing with excess rain from the past week.

The good news is we'll see a nice weekend with sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain with up to an inch possible.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 11pm and midnight, then a chance of showers after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, with another half inch possible.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

Let hope we don't see the flooding central New York experienced last Summer. Check out the wrath of Mother Nature on July 1st, 2017.
