The Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade is this Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. down Genesee Street. There are many events going on all this week ahead of St. Paddy's day, paving the way for the special "wearing of the green".

According to The Great American Irish Festival website, the Irish flag will be raised over Utica City Hall today at 12 noon. Then, on Friday, March 16th at 11:00 a.m., it's the painting of the green center line on the St. Patrick's Day Parade route down Genesee Street. Traditionally, the Mayor of Utica participates in this event, and many are on hand with their cameras. Let's hope for good weather for all of these events, and especially for Saturday's parade, which begins at 10 a.m.
