According to a new report from TMZ, Mcloughlin, who works for the NYPD as a police officer, has been taken off his normal assignment patrolling Times Square on foot due to the intense media scrutiny that has come his way.

Lambert stunned fans and made headlines around the world when she abruptly announced that she and Mcloughlin were married via social media on Saturday (Feb. 16), writing, "In honor of Valentine's Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for .... me."

The couple reportedly met in November of 2018 while Lambert was appearing on Good Morning America with her trio, Pistol Annies. GMA tapes at Times Square, and Mcloughlin frequently works the area during tapings. The officer will drive his superiors around until the attention on him dies down.

It's not the only pressure on the young marriage. Mcloughlin also welcomed a child from a previous relationship in November, the same month he met Lambert, and he has 50/50 custody. According to TMZ, he and Lambert are currently conducting a long-distance marriage as he continues to live in New York City and pursue his career there, while she is living on her 400-acre estate outside of Nashville. The couple are traveling back and forth to see each other as often as they can, and Mcloughlin will reportedly reconsider his career options after a year.
