Cochran is a schoolteacher from Gilbert's hometown, a woman he's known for 10 years.
Gilbert tells People, 'Amber is an amazing person and has inspired a lot of my songs from 'More Than Miles' to 'You Don't Know Her Like I Do.' I'm a blessed man to have her back in my life and can't wait to make her my wife.'
Gilbert broke the engagement news last month on the Bobby Bones show, breaking women's hearts across the nation.
The wedding is planned for June 2015.
