The Welsh town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch may have the longest name at 58 letters but one New York train stop also shares this name through some unique history.

The weatherman Liam Dutton for Channel 4 News in Britain has recently gone viral for being able to flawlessly pronounce the town name during a recent weather forecast but this is nothing new to the town of Remsen, NY.

Just to the north of Utica, the small town of Remsen is home to approximately 2,000 residents. The area was originally settled by Welsh immigrants in the late 1700s and early 1800s thanks in part to the Baron Du Steuben.

It is through a their rich Welsh heritage and a strong connection to Wales that a recent delegation from Wales honored the Remsen Depot Train Station, a stop on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, with the official title of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch and a town sign to hang at the stop.

The Welsh sign from the delegation sign with the infamous 58 letter long name can be seen hanging at the Remsen Depot and the St. David's Society routinely challenges people during Remsen Barn FOTA weekend with pronouncing the full name in Welsh, and for those few who can pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch properly go bragging rights and often a few Welsh Teacakes.
