In the past 11 years, have you gotten ice cream from Kimberly's Ice Cream Factory? Well, it's an end of an era on Sunday when the ice cream shop closes up for good.

Kimberly Bukowski started the business back in in May of 2003 in Cazenovia. After running two shops for a time, she closed the Cazenovia location and focused on the Manlius store, which has been open 11 years. According to Syracuse.com, the decision to close is due to Kimberly wanting family time.

Bukowski says she now has a full-time job at Cornell University as an extension support associate, and has grandchildren in other states she wants time to visit. Running a small business takes a lot of work and time, and she's ready to do other things, she said.

After trying to sell the business for nearly two years, she put a sign up in the window and then received calls from two prospective buyers.

The shop will close on Sunday. Customers can enjoy their favorite flavors once again this weekend.
