Our energy bill has doubled. There's really only so much any of us can do about it, but proper home maintenance can have an impact.

Tad's retired now, so that means his "honey do" list has gotten longer, but he's not a do-it-yourselfer; he's more of a gotta do it guy. John over at John's Mobile Home Parts & Accessories is a lifesaver, though, because he carries everything in the right sizes for manufactured homes — and he really has everything.

Tad was fiddling with our furnace the other day and couldn't get the cover to go back on right. Sure enough, John had the right solution, and as long as Tad was there, he picked up a doorknob we needed but hadn't gotten to you.

If your furnace doesn't seem to be running right or is on the older side, now (at the end of the season/in the off-season) is the time to get John's crew to replace it. Same with those doors and windows that are letting all your hot air leak out. Keep all your money inside your house and take care of those things now before you're paying for air conditioning.

John's got a great stock of doors and windows:

With spring on the horizon (fingers crossed!), check that skirting to see if anything needs to be repaired or replaced.
