The 2026 Winter Olympics Begins in Milan, Italy

It's the first official week of the 2026 Winter Olympics and athletes from all over the world are competing for the gold in Milan, Italy.

Team USA has been giving it their all in Curling, Cross Country Skiing, Luge, Figure Skating, Hockey and many other winter events.

The Winter Olympics will wrap up with their closings ceremonies on Sunday February 22nd, 2026.

Upstate, New York Hockey Family Stealing The Spotlight at The Winter Olympics

There are a handful of athletes competing in this years Olympics that hail from New York State.

Haley Winn is a 22-year-old professional ice hockey player from Rochester, NY. She currently is a defenseman for the Boston Fleet in the Professional Women's Hockey League and plays on the U.S. Women's National Team playing in Italy.

The Team USA women's hockey team has been absolutely electric to watch. Winn and her teammates have showed up big time against heavy hitters like Canada, beating them 5-0.

Stealing the show, however, is Winn's 3 brothers watching from the stands.

Casey, Tommy and Ryan Winn have been spotted in the stands in unique outfits supporting their sister and vocalizing how the feel if their sister gets thrown in the penalty box. We love seeing the excitement for U.S. Women's Hockey, but seeing siblings supporting each other on the worlds biggest stage is pretty cool too.

Must be those New York roots. Team USA plays Italy in the Quarter-final on February 13th, 2026.
