Ilion To Host First ‘Holiday Hoopla’ Christmas Celebration

It's a full day of Christmas celebrations in Ilion this December with something for everyone.

Whether it's food, Santa Claus, Christmas themed arts and crafts, bowling, live music or hot chocolate you love, there's sure to be something for you at Ilion's first ever 'Holiday Hoopla' on December 15.

The event runs all day throughout the Village of Ilion on the 15th.

Here's the schedule:

• 9am - Breakfast with Santa at Barringer road school. (prices not determined yet)
• 10am Reindeer run - ages 14 and under and it's a free event (Location TBD)
• Visit with Santa and his North Pole friends around town. You just never know where he'll be watching you from
• 11am - 1pm Franco's will host make your own personal pan pizza for only 5.00.
• 11am -3pm State Bowling Center will offer a 7.00 special for 2 games and shoes. Proceeds to benefit Herkimer county human society.
• Municipal building with have multiple stations - make a snowflake, write a letter to a brave soldier, get your pictures done by DSP images, face painting, coloring contest, music by Dean Wilson 12-3, and an ornament station sponsored by Ilion's Community Garden with other goodies.
• Ilion library will offer story time (times to be announced)
• Music being played at the pavilion by multiple musicians through out the day. Hot chocolate will be also be available (hot chocolate station is being sponsored by Franco's in Ilion)
• Window contest for businesses for the best decorated
• 1pm-3pm Old Fashion Horse and Carriage rides. Cost is a donation (Leaving from the front of the municipal building)
• Stocking Hop - children can bring a stocking with then to decorate at the municipal building and then stop at a variety of businesses that are participating and fill your stocking with goodies. (A list of businesses will be available that day)
• Candy cane hunt (location TBD)
• Chinese auction/ craft fair Knights Of Columbus 9am-3pm
• Francesca's banquet hall for Rock Painting also sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Rotary Club CNY rocks.
• Honey Brooke Hobbies - decorate Christmas cookies (Time will be announced)
• 10am - 12pm Be Our Guest (located inside the Marine Corp League) make your own s'mores and meet your favorite characters. They will also be giving away 2 free birthday parties!!!
• 130-3 The Happy Haggs Dance Troupe will perform downtown.
• 10am - 12pm Remington Federal Credit Union will host make a letter to Santa. It's sure to be a good time.
• 9am - 5pm Niki Marie's salon is offering children's haircuts for only 10.00!!
• 10am - 12pm True Value Hardware will host Mrs. Claus with a snack and craft in their new cafe!!!
• 230pm - 5pm Ziyara Zanies clown will be at the Municipal building
