Household Hazardous Waste Facility Opens On Friday

The Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority's Household Hazardous Waste Facility will open for its 24th season on Friday.

Residents of Oneida and Herkimer Counties can drop off paint, chemicals or other household hazardous waste at the facility on Leland Avenue.  Examples of wastes accepted include oil-based and latex paints, pesticides, oven cleaners, and photographic chemicals. 

Certain businesses may also qualify to use the facility.  For more information, call 733-1224 ext. 1100.

Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:00 and Saturday, from 7:00 to 2:00.

The hazardous waste facility will be open until September 30th.
