It's back. The holiday sign Happy Birthday Jesus - We Love You, that has caused controversy over the past few years outside fire station 4 in Utica is up for the season.

The photo of the decorated Fire Department was posted on Facebook, and from the comments under the photo, almost everyone seems happy with the decorations and the sign. Of course, that's not always been the case.

In 2014, Station 4 received quite a bit of backlash for their sign choice. Fire chief Russ Brooks got a letter from an attorney in Wisconsin asking the fire department not repeat the display. Chief Brooks responded that he was well within his rights to put up his sign. A second plea was sent to Mayor Palmieri to get the sign removed, to no avail.

For a lot of people in our community, the sign is just a sign . For Chief Brooks, it's a tradition. "The sign stays."

How do you feel about the sign? Do you think it's perfect for the holidays, or do you think it crosses a line? We would love to hear what you think - Leave us a note in the "comments section" at the bottom of this page.
