It's only February and we know we're going to get hit with colder weather before winter is over. In the meantime, here are a few things you can do to enjoy those 60-degree temps...

Get a Jump Start on That Spring Cleaning

Sure spring isn't here yet, but there's something about those unexpected warm days that just gives you a jump in energy. Don't waste that extra energy, start some spring cleaning projects. Now you don't have to go overboard (because come on, we know there are still some cold days on the way), but maybe start working on organizing or cleaning out that spare bedroom, or going through all that paperwork and mail that has been piling up. Maybe skip on going through your spring and summer clothes for now, though.

Open the Windows

While you're getting a start on your spring cleaning, the next few days are going to be perfect for opening the windows and getting some fresh air in. Get rid of that winter stuffiness (even if it's just for a few days). And there's just something about all that fresh air that makes you feel better and more relaxed. Be careful though, yes it's going to be warmer in Central New York for the next few days, but there's still a chance for some rain.

Get Outside

So what if it might rain? A little rain won't hurt. Soak up some of those warm temperatures by getting outside. Maybe go for a walk, even if it's just to the nearest convenience store or to a close park. Like opening the windows, getting that fresh air and a little exercise will make you feel better and get rid of that winter "cabin fever" feeling, even if it's just for a short time. If you really don't want to go out in the rain don't worry, it's not supposed to rain all day for the next few days. But if you're looking for sunshine for going on your walk... Well, you may have to settle for cloudy skies.

Enjoy Some Ice Cream

You don't have to wait for warmer weather to get a nice ice cream cone or a bowl of your favorite flavor, but it's a great excuse. Unfortunately, some of the ice cream places are still closed for the winter season, but that doesn't mean you're out of luck. You can still get ice cream at the "Riverside Diner" in Marcy or the "Ice Cream Factory" at Sangertown Mall. Maybe try "All Season Ice Cream" in Clinton or take a nice drive to "The Soda Fountain" in Remsen. You can always go to your closest Stewart's Shop and pick up some ice cream as well.

Volunteer (or At Least Start Thinking About It)

Like we said earlier, the warmer temperatures have a way of giving us all a burst of extra energy. Why not put that extra energy to good use by signing up to volunteer? There are plenty of organizations that could use an extra hand. A good one to check out that has volunteering efforts going on now and over the next few months (if you're just starting to think about it) is the Utica Zoo. They're looking for animal care volunteers, volunteers during their special events, and even zoo ambassadors and grounds/maintenance volunteers.

Or you could always just see if your neighbor or coworker could use any help... With anything. Besides, doing something nice for someone always feels good. So why not?

No matter what you end up doing for the next few days, we hope you enjoy this warmer weather in Central New York and make the most of it. Spring isn't here yet and we're sure to have more cold weather on the way (maybe even another snowstorm before winter is done). But don't worry, spring will get here and stay here... eventually.
