Our hometown hero Erin Hamlin is getting ready for her next Winter Olympics. Cosmopolitan Magazine decided to highlight her personal life and career.

In the interview, we get a peak at the personal life of our Central New York hero. We learn about her dog named Dooley, a cat named Luna, and three horses named Taz, Kyria, and Gemini. Have you ever wondered what her favorite food is? Chocolate is her favorite thing in the world.

What about love and romance? Erin is getting married in July at her parents' home in Remsen. Cosmo points out she's planning a wedding at the same time she trains for the Olympics.

Her fiancé, Jonathan Hodge, gets summers off because he's a school teacher, so he's often able to help Erin with her training; Erin and Jonathan were childhood friends who reconnected in their 20s."

How did he pop the question?

"Jonathan proposed in July, totally on a whim. He had all these fun romantic plans but then he had the ring and it totally burned a hole in his pocket," Erin told Cosmopolitan.com "It was a random Monday and he met me for lunch and decided on our way home, ‘I’m just gonna do it.’ We have an inside joke with Cheerios — so he got a box of Cheerios and some candles and set up candles all the way up the stairs to our apartment and wrote 'WILL YOU MARRY ME?' in Cheerios on the stairs."
