It was in Februrary of this year that the world lost Dave Mirra. Dave was an icon in the sport of BMX and a native son of Central New York. Now, he's being honored by the USA BMX Hall of Fame.

He was born and raised in Chittenango, NY and won a medal in every X Games in which he competed, including 14 gold medals. It was earlier this year when his body was discovered after an apparent suicide. He is being inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame in the category of 'Freestyle.' On the Hall of Fame page of the BMX Hall website it states,

In February of this year, the sport of BMX lost a true legend. It is safe to say that no BMXer has ever reached the recognition, fame and notoriety that Dave Mirra....

Always remember the man MIrra was and the amazing things he accomplished for his sport.
