Dale Earnhardt Jr. Wins Daytona 500 Despite Weather Delay And Confusion
Nascar's biggest race of the year took place yesterday. The Daytona 500 is the most iconic race on the racing sport's calendar. The race yesterday was delayed for a while due to adverse weather conditions including a tornado warning. Due to the weather delay, FOX broadcast a replay of last year's race where Jimmie Johnson was victorious. Because of that, many people believed he did it again.
Johnson did not win the race. It was nearly midnight when the race finally finished and Dale Earnhardt Jr. who drives the #88 National Guard Chevy was the first car to cross the finish line. What a great way to honor the memory of his father Dale Earnhardt Senior, who lost his life on the same track in 2001. What a start to the 2014 Nascar Sprint Cup Series.
