COVID Concerns Cancel Country Concert at New York State Fair
COVID is canceling a country concert at the New York State Fair.
The Oak Ridge Boys will not be performing at Chevy Court as planned on Tuesday, August 31 due to a recent outbreak of positive COVID-19 cases within the touring organization. The band has actually canceled the next two weeks of shows.
"Out of an abundance of caution, two weeks of concerts have been postponed or canceled," the band announced on Facebook.
The good news is, the Oak Ridge Boys and their team are all doing well. "Though none of The Oak Ridge Boys themselves have tested positive, because of the close-knit environment of touring, a 14-day self-imposed quarantine is the only way we can ethically and capably move forward at this time."
Several shows have been rescheduled but since the New York State Fair only runs until September 6, the concert can't be set on another date. "We hope everyone stays safe and we can't wait to get back out on the road to see you," the Oak Ridge Boys said.
Several concerts are still planned for the remainder of the fair.
