A community fundraiser for the Boy Scout Troop 9 in Ilion almost didn't happen after their BBQ came up missing. The community is now coming together to help replace the stolen pit.

The chicken BBQ pits were set up the night before the bazaar, held every year in Ilion, in front of the First Presbyterian Church. The next morning the Scout Master arrived to start the fire, but the BBQ was gone. A smaller grill was brought in for the boys to continue the chicken BBQ.

A campaign has been set up to help cover the cost of new pits and racks for the Scouts, who use it to raise funds for outings and help with future community events.

You can help by donating to the GoFundMe campaign.

If you know anything about the stolen BBQ or saw anything over the weekend, you're asked to call Ilion Police at 315-894-9911.
